News in from Oxford Hoops

BASKETBALL SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE (OXFORD CITY) has been given the green light and it’s all go.

After a meeting between St. Gregory the Great School Head Teacher, John Hussey and HOOPS Head Coach Franky Marulanda it was agreed that Oxford City will have its own BASKETBALL SCHOOL of EXCELLENCE based at St. Gregory the Great School.

“We have been working on this venture for the last 16 months and now we are ready to launch it.” Said Coach Marulanda.

“It will give fantastic opportunities to all Year 7 & 8 basketball players looking for more basketball and wanting to have a taste of higher level Coaching.”

The Basics:
Any Oxford City Year 7 & 8 student will be able to enrol at the BASKETBALL SCHOOL of EXCELLENCE as from 10th July 2010.

The BASKETBALL SCHOOL of EXCELLENCE will not be tied up to any Club, but will endeavour to improve the quality of play at School level.

The BASKETBALL SCHOOL of EXCELLENCE will prepare individual players to National League standard in order to help participation and quality.

The BASKETBALL SCHOOL of EXCELLENCE will offer a mix of theory and practice to its players, giving them a real taste of what professional players have to do on a daily basis.

An ELITE CAMP will also be available to help these young athletes realize their dreams.
