SONICS were missing sharp shooter James Edwards, defensive guard David Smith and Mason Poore as well as Power Forward Josh Mortimer. However, SONICS had a strong team with Amir Boucena, Desta Rudder-Smith, Preye Ozeke, Louis Burford and David Emsden starting as well as having a deep bench with Rauni Barros, Patrice Mulowaye, Ayo Toye and Franky Marulanda. WITNEY also had a strong side with Tom Shore, Gould and Ridgill leading the team offensively.
SONICS won the tip and immediately went to work scoring 14 points within the first 3 minutes, Desta (#32 – 12 pts) was like a possessed demon, but in the 4th minute Shore scored his first shot from downtown. The quarter was very one sided, with SONICS taking a serious offensive drive with all starting 5 making healthy contributions. SONICS 31, Witney 18.

The second quarter SONICS applied more pressure stretching their defence to full court man and forcing Witney to take tough shots, however, Witney were making the shots and showed no signs of slowing down. BY the half SONICS were up 57 to 29.

The third quarter showed SONICS stepping up their offensive game, by running at Witney and taking some gambles of defence. Witney made the most out of it scoring 22 points and showing that they were able to compete, SONICS on the other hand knew they gave up too many baskets, but ion turn scored 35 to make the score 92 to 51 in favour of SONICS.

In the fourth quarter SONICS needed to step up defensively whilst maintaining their offensive wave. They did just that and held Witney to 8 pts in the quarter whilst scoring 27. The game finished 119 to 59 SONICS.
